National American Miss

A national system for girls and women ages 4 to 39, built around interview, introduction, formal wear and community service. The Carolina state titles are crowned at a regional event in Atlanta. 1 of the 27 upcoming pageants on our calendar (as of October 24, 2026) are NAM events: 1 list South Carolina and 1 list North Carolina. Who it is for

Contestants between 4 and 39 as of January 1 of the competition year. NAM's own pages do not list the individual age divisions, so ask when you apply.

What is judged

NAM lists four main phases: Interview, Personal Introduction, Formal Wear and Community Service. Families often describe NAM as a natural system, but we did not find that word in NAM's own rules, so we leave the style blank.

How state feeds national

For 2027, the South Carolina and North Carolina state pageants are part of a combined Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina event in Atlanta. NAM's FAQ lists a $650 state sponsor fee and says a state queen goes on to the national pageant, with a national fee of $950.
